Just wanted to say thanks: for your professionalism; thanks for your dedication; thanks for your compassion. We all appreciate it so very much.
For the past two years, we’ve had this thought – what about bringing a smile to someone’s face unexpectedly – a way of saying thank you for everything that you do.
Last year was our first year showing thanks in this way. We went around Hutchinson and donated flowers to non-profits that may not be thanked enough for the job that they do.
When we were finishing up last year, Sarah and I had a thought. “We should do this for our team next year!” It would be a huge undertaking, we thought, but with the right planning, we could pull this off.
We wanted to, in person, show how much we appreciated each member that works for our company.
With this year’s Rotary Rose Day quickly approaching, we had to hatch a plan to pull this off. How could we get around to every community that we manage to show thanks.
We settled on the routes, and then what type of flowers we were going to buy.
While the Executive Director’s and Registered Nurse’s got a bouquet of flowers, each staff member received a chocolate rose. Chocolate roses were selected because every staff member may not work before the roses would turn.
The morning the flowers arrived, the office mobilized quickly. With some communities over 3 hours away from Hutchinson, we needed to get moving. Very quickly, 4 cars were heading in opposite directions.
It wasn’t until someone asked us later that evening that we realized how many miles we had put on delivering flowers. Between the four cars that were on the road, 1,232 miles were driven.
As the day ended, we had one final thought on the day.
One day, one moment, will never cover the our appreciation for everything that you and the staff do for the people you serve. Your efforts, your dedication and your sincerity in the work that you do is beyond measure.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
